Beginning in the heart of an old plantation town on the Hāmākua Coast, Earl’s Paʻauilo Store has been serving the community since 1949.

Originally called Paʻauilo Store, our small business has been run by the Saito family for three generations. In 1972, Earl’s Snack Shop a fast food restaurant opened, and Paʻauilo Store became the local gathering place. After the closure of Hāmākua Sugar Company, the community underwent several changes, and in time, the business evolved into a convenience store. Today, in addition to operating the store and lunch wagon, we offer custom catering.

Visit us at our newest location in Waimea and try one of our unique bento rolls. It’s a feast in your fist!
